Invitación Seminario Virtual Durum Meeting

VIRTUAL DURUM MEETINGS (VDMS).

VDMs are webinars where 4-5 short presentations are given in about 2 hrs. followed by time for discussion.

The first two VDMs will be on 27 AND 28 OF JULY and will focus on DURUM WHEAT BREEDING (first day) and DURUM WHEAT GENOMICS (second day). The webinars will start at 2.30 pm (Central European Time), corresponding to morning in US and late evening in Australia.

1ST DAY - JULY 27 - DURUM BREEDING (14.30-16.30 CET)

* KARIM AMMAR (CIMMYT, Mexico). Advances in Durum Wheat Breeding at CIMMYT. * ELISABETTA MAZZUCOTELLI (CREA, Italy). The Global Durum Panel as a durum breeding platform. * CONXITA ROYO (Spain). Impact of durum wheat breeding on major genes regulating flowering time and its agronomic implications. * FRIEDRICH LONGING (University of Hohenheim Germany). Durum breeding in Germany: new programs and ideas for the near future.

2ND DAY - JULY 28 SESSION 2: DURUM GENOMICS (14.30-16.30 CET)

* HAIPEI LIU (University of Adelaide, Australia). Durum miRNA-mediated networks in response to water-deficit and heat stress during reproduction. * AGATA GADALETA (University of Bari, Italy). Candidate genes and genome-wide association study for fibre content in wild and cultivated wheats. * MARCO MACCAFERRI (University of Bologna). The Tetraploid wheat Global Collection. * JORGE DUBCOVSKY (UC-Davis, USA). Sequenced mutant populations and new efficient transformation technologies to empower gene functional studies in durum wheat.
