*II Brazil-Argentine* *Microfluidics Congress*
*V Congreso de Microfluídica Argentina*
*www.mfarg.org <http://www.mfarg.org/>*
Following the successful first bilateral Brazil-Argentine Microfluidics
Congress <https://pages.cnpem.br/workshopmicrofluidica/>, we are very
pleased to invite you to participate in the *II Brazil-Argentine
Microfluidics Congress/ V Congreso de Microfluídica Argentina *
<http://www.mfarg.org/>** to be held in *Córdoba
<https://www.cordobaturismo.gov.ar/>,* Argentina, *from the 22th to the
25th of October,* 2019. Abstract submission isopen (oral presentations
*until June 24*).
The congress is the second joint initiative between the Argentine and
Brazilian scientific communities in Microfluidics to strengthen the
scientific and technological collaboration between the two countries and
the region.
Microfluidics is a multidisciplinary scientific and technological area
in accelerated development stage with fruitful intercrossed relationship
with industry. Prediction and control of the behavior of small volumes
of fluids (nanoliter to picoliter) at small scales (nanometers
tomicrometers) have allowed successful industrial applications from the
inkjet printhead to the present revolutionary development of
lab-on-chip and organ-on-a-chip devices in medicine, pharmaceutics,
chemistry, biology, physics, biomedical engineering, soil science, food
industry, ecology, analysis (chemical analysis, environmental
monitoring, medical diagnostics, DNA testing, single cell
analysis)./Advantages of microfluidics applications are:/ precision,
control, small volumes, low cost, low energy, fast processes,
green-credentials and portability.
The first joint Brazil-Argentine Microfluidics Congress was organized at
PUC-Rio in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 2018. The first microfluidics
workshop in Brazil was organized in 2011 whereas the corresponding first
argentine congress was held in 2014. The goal of this edition is to
bring together researchers, engineers, students, both from academia
and industry, to showcase the most recent innovations in the field, to
discuss future directions in microfluidics technologies and their
applications, and to involve a growing number of participants in the
region.
The topics
<https://sites.google.com/view/microfluidics2019/topics?authuser=0> will
be wide-ranging, from experiments and theory on microfluidic devices to
visualization and instrumentation, 3D printing, techniques and
materials for microfabrication, with the persistently extending scope of
applications of the microfluidics field.
*You are invited to register and submit now !*
*For more information, please visit the congress webpage: *www.mfarg.org
<http://www.mfarg.org/>**
We highly appreciate your help advertising the event.
Looking forward to meet you soon in Córdoba,
Prof. Dr. Verónica I. Marconi & Prof. Dr. Adolfo J. Banchio (chairs)
on behalf of the Organizing Committee.
